Re: Poll - FSX or FS9?
I have way too much invested in FS9 ...If microsoft had mad it so FSX could have worked with FS9 stuff then I would switched but im not chucking out what I have just to start again when there is very little to be gained,,,
I will stay with FS9 untill the next generation of flight sim offers me something extra.

George,
FSX, for sure, is the best sim between the two... does this mean your finally dropping development for FS9?
FSX TOTALLY ROCKS!!!

Nothing requires you to switch, FSX doesn't care if you have older versions. Will your system handle it?deltaboeing84 wrote:FS9. Too heavily invested in FS9 just to up out and switch.

Hi Martin,
I have both installed. Use FS9 more for speed and large aircraft and flying to complex airports. But I like FSX for the quality graphics. Until FSX is as fast and as stable as FS9 I will keep both. I buy sceneries for both, but mainly FS9, for now.

Re: Poll - FSX or FS9?
FS9 for IFR flying. Big airports. Large traffic.
FSX for VFR flying. Small airports. eye candy textures for low flying.
I like Aerosofts idea of Big airports for fs9 and small airports for fsx. Just wish they made an Airbus X for fs9. But thank God for Project Airbus for that!

Re: Poll - FSX or FS9?
Using FSX for vfr and ifr. Water, textures, mesh, almost verything looks far better. No performance issues at all with todays midrange hardware. MD11 approaching Boston with autogen dense and UTX everthing on is not an issue any more.

Re: Poll - FSX or FS9?
Would have to be FS9, currently used about 75% vs 25% against FSX.Which is currently your primary sim of choice?
However FSX is bringing that figure down ever more quickly as I seem to be getting lower and slower in my old age

Guess I'm the same as many people out there.
Airliners and heavies, most deffinately FS9 only.
Low and slow, FSX only.
Re: Poll - FSX or FS9?
That does bring up a good point. I do find that I use FS9 mostly for PAX jets and FSX for GA/Military. FSX is about 5% of my use though.TJC wrote:Airliners and heavies, most deffinately FS9 only.

Re: Poll - FSX or FS9?
Retired FS9 a few years ago, so its FSX only for me.
Re: Poll - FSX or FS9?
FSX flyer only. It works well enough for me, and it simply looks much better. Stupid as it sounds, I love the moving cars over the roads. Combined with stuff like MegaScenery, it simply looks amazing. And let's not forget the greater distance at which one can see buildings. Landing at KJFK is a whole different story in FSX than it was in FS9. Besides, there are some addons out for FSX only that I simply love, like OrbX scenery.
