AES & KBOS Freeware for FS9

Postby miata54 » Tue May 29, 2012 8:06 pm

I purchased FT KBOS for FSX about 6 months ago and added AES by Oliver Pabst. I also run FS9 and currently have a problem with my FS9 and AES in that being the jetways are at ground level. Oliver has been helping me trying to solve it. I mentioned I was using George Grimshaws freeware KBOS v2 for FS9 and that I had purchased the FT KBOS for FSX. He asked me why I didn't use the FS9 installer that came with the FSX version of KBOS. I told him my copy of the FSX KBOS didn't come with an FS9 installer. He is under the impression that the FSX payware version should also have the FS9 freeware installer. Is this correct?

Also, I see in the FSX Scenery/World/scenery folder a file called "AFX_KBOS_flytampa_dummy.bgl". Is a version for FS9 also needed for FS9 and if so, where is this file generated? I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the ground hugging jetways I see when I activate AES in FS9?

Thanks

Chris

I suggest you un-install everything Boston, including that dummy.bgl. Then confirm the default scenery is okay.

After everything is back to normal, install Boston V3 via the FS9 installer. Do not touch any freeware george grimshaw files or the FSX Installer.

If you don't have the FS9 installer, which you should have received upon purchasing, contact support@flytampa.com stating your details & request a replacement download link for Boston V3 FS9. It'll take a few days.

Regarding AES, make sure you activate it for Boston V3. AES also supports the old Freeware Grimshaw Boston V2.
