Drop in AI.

Postby Gypsymoth » Mon Mar 23, 2009 9:51 am

I've recently installed KSEA & have noticed that when I had the previous default airport I had 30 - 50 or so WoAI aircraft around (I get 70-80 at Heathrow, eg,) I now get around 6 airlines showing up (United, S/west, N/west, US Airways, Fedex, & Conitental) & wonder why? Now, I'm fairly new to FS, etc, so would appreciate any suggestions about what might be causing the problem.
Thanks. Terry Wallis.

You might want to add Alaska Airlines too if you haven't already. Most the traffic at SEA is Alaska. Oh, Horizon Air too.

I had the 35 WoAI airlines installed & saw airlines from all over the world there just like I saw when I've been there. I now get about 6 US airlines - no BA or Air France, SAS, etc, so I'm wondering if installing FT SeaTac has done something to get a drop off?? I was wondering about the afcad & parking places problem but I'm not the expert.

You should see mostly Alaska and Horizon planes, stuff like BA has very few flights out of sea tac, so they will probably only show at certain times of the day. The international airlines are at the south terminal, and SAS is stopping their flights to sea tac after July 31.
Sounds like you may have had to many international airlines, there really are not that many there. You should see way, way more Alaska and Horizon planes than anything else.

Hi paavo. I used to fly into SeaTac a lot a few years ago & remember seeing internetional aircraft there. I have the 35 airlines suggested by WoAI & in my Dell running XP I remember SeaTac was crawling & before I installed FT KESA here I always saw BA & others. I'll check the screenshots when I next get the Dell fired up but I just have a feeling that I don't see the traffic I used to with this new set-up. Admitedly the last time I flew from SeaTac was when a friend
captained his last PamAm flight to HR (1996?) & I was on board, so things might have changed in the real world as well!

I live in the area so KSEA is where I fly out of when I travel.
Here are a few screenshots, the other thing to keep in mind is red eyes go from west to east in the states, so you may only see planes like BA late at night. The 2 times I've flown from KSEA to Europe ( BA and Martinair ) left around midnight. I'm not saying your set up is spot on, you could very well have something off, but domestic planes are the dominant ones.

I think they sold them all to American, the MD 80 is by the far the most uncomfortable plane to ride in. It wasn't bad when it was just the short flight from Seattle to Reno, but riding one from Dallas to Seattle was like being in a torture chamber.
I don't use FS9 so that is an old WOI AI install, but I forgot what a mastepiece Sea Tac is, I may have to start using FS9 again.

I've reinstalled all the flight plans & WoAI (from my old Dell) & now my KSEA looks like yours in those great shots. I have around 35 aircraft on the ground & 9 queing for take off. Yes - night flight to London & I used to land at KSEA around 2PM & be taken to the nearby Five Pennies bar for pan fried oysters & Chardonnay.......really have to do it again soon!! :P
