Can't delete Vienna V2 scenery

Postby ILM » Sun Jun 06, 2010 10:50 pm

I recently purchased Fly Tampa's great Vienna Airport Scenery. The scenery is wonderful but was causing some problems. I decided to delete it and try to reinstall.

I can't delete it and am now getting 'memory leaks,' which i never got before.

In the scenery library within the game there were two entries for Vienna airport, one on top of the other. I deleted both within the game as per the instructions provided by FlyTampa. When I restarted the game one of the scenery entries for Vienna was gone, but the other was still there and checked. I disabled it again and tried to delete it. Restarting the game, i saw it was still there in the scenery library. I went into the scenery.cfg file and deleted the entry. Restarted the game and it was still there.

Finally, I renamed the old scenery.cfg file, the one made just before installing Vienna. Restarted the game and Vienna is still there. I have deleted the files for Vienna and every time i start the game, even after deleting the entry, a error comes up saying the game cant find that addon folder, which i deleted.

Why is the game still looking for something i told it to disable? Because of this I am now getting 'memory leaks' which I never had before. I just want to delete the Vienna scenery completely.

Thanks for the help!
Richard

Not sure what FS version you're using, FSX I assume. If so there are other scenery.cfg files which you may want to look at.

In Windows Explorer, pointed to the root C: drive, enter scenery.cfg in the search field.

It may find this in various locations like user/XXX/appdata/roadming/microsoft/fsx
program data/microsoft/fsx

When looking at the files found, ignore all the backups, just check the ones named scenery.cfg

I'm using Fs2004. I forgot to mention that. I'll try what you suggest. Thank you!
