Mr. george[flytampa],

I purchased the software on CD (yesterday) and got download links as well. So, I started by installing the downloads today. However, I could NOT tell from the installers (or .pdf Manual which says v3.0) which version I had installed? And, there are NO uninstaller in Windows' Control panel's "Programs and Features" and NO Product ID files for me to determine it either.

Can you, Please, tell me how to determine if I need to apply these updates or not? Or, how to determine which version of Installer I have?

Hey James,

You can just run the 3.1 download anyway, it'll just overwrite the files.
But, if you want to know for sure check to see if you have Fort Independence.

I didn't write the installer so I don't know if there's a version number visible anywhere.

My installer file is named "FlyTampa_Boston_FSX_31.exe" but besides that I didn't know what else to look for. I'll take a trip out to Fort Independence, shortly, and verify that all is good.

Also, I did set my autogen to 4500 and 2000, as perscribed by the manual. And, the foliage looks great, except for one thing; the trees "shimmer."
What are the suggested graphic settings for that ("shimmering" trees/water) to be fixed?

PS: I use (x2) BFG Nvidia 295GTX WCE w/ 1.7GB in Quad SLI and driver 195.62 (64-bit) on Vista Ultimate SP2 (64-bit).

The trees are standard fsx autogen tress. Increasing AA & AF on your nvidia might help. Unless you've installed a environment addon that replaces the tress with mipless ones.

I'd say the "31" in the installer file name is pretty indicative...not to mention, if you just run it, you'll know you are up to date.

I'll have to use Nhancer to modify the AA and AF; as the latest Drivers (195.62) NO longer allows users to modify those settings in its control panel; NOT really sure, "why."
Also, I do use Aerosoft's German Airports Season tool and ORBX's FTX Central Trees which may or may NOT have mipless ones. I'll let you know as soon as I've tested everything or found out the answer to those questions.

No, the installer Filenames you received should be 3.1:

FlyTampa_Boston_FSX_31.exe
FlyTampa_Boston_FS9_31.exe

hi, i have installed KBOS v3.1 and all is ok i have the memorial flags at the the jetways and all. But when i active boston v3.1 with AES (2.05), i lose the memorial flags at the jetways B32/C19 i dont know why.


Please help.

If you haven't seen it, you might refer to this topic. I don't think you can see it with AES.

When i was reading the fixes and when i read the line "Added 9/11 flags to jetways", Every single memory i had from that day came back and i started having a emotional break down. My heart goes out to all those families who lost loved ones. I remember the entire day at school and watching on TV as the entire world was shut down because of this. I was only 9 years old and i still remember that horrible day like it was yesterday. Now im 19. I went to New York and went to the momorial and the same thing happend there. I sure hope we dont have another attack like that on the US with the New WTC.

When i download it and attempt to install it (i am a little late on checking for the update) once i click run a messages popsup saying " Unable to perform the Update because no prior Version of FlyTampa-Boston has been detected." I know i have the addon because i just flew out of it one hour ago. PLEASE HELP

Maybe you already have it? What's the filename of your original installer?
If you want to visually confirm it, check if you have the Fort at the end of 04L/R
