Runway Lights Too Dim

Postby ryanbatc » Wed Feb 02, 2011 10:59 pm

I'm sure this is a bit subjective... but the runway lights seem very dim at night. I will admit the default FSX lights are too bright for VFR nighttime settings but is there a middle ground we could use?

On a five step HIRL system step 2 is more commonly used at larger airports. Where I work we usually just turn them to 1 at night unless someone is having a hard time seeing the airport... but even step 1 IRL is brighter than these lights in the sim.

The MALSR looks about right from my experience.

Thoughts?

Thanks, hmmmm... I think I'll stick with your lights. That was a nice night video btw with the cessna. Even a trained flight simmer probably couldn't see the runway at first... But I was able to pick it up solely because of the PAPI hehe.

Also, your scenery is wonderful! I try to fly most of my bizjet flights starting at the Jet Center ramp where you're parked under that large roof hehe!
