I love this scenery, and I've never been to Athens in real life. I use UT2 for my AI aircraft and coded Aegean and Olympic AEE and OAL respectively. I notice all aircraft for those airlines park in remote parking, instead of the terminals. Is this correct in real world ops?

Thats what they do. When I was in Athens (May 2011) we landed and it was only us and a dinavia 735 at the main terminal and loads of OAL and AEE at remote stands.

I would prefer that airlines use the gates first and then overflow to remote stands. It looks very strange on arrival at such a beautiful airport that the terminal and gate areas are so bare and yet the remote parking is overflowing at the seams! Is anyone able to create an AFCAD for FSX that would ensure all airlines use the gates first?

Actually, Olympic & Aegean do park in the gates but also in the stands.

Shame, as all Olympic and Aegean traffic park on the remote stands and none at the gates

I've stopped flying to Athens now as it looks odd with the parking arrangements. Hopefully someone will produce a new FSX AFCAD that makes the terminals and gate areas busy rather than the remote stands!

Theres no way of prioritising certain gates other than using some tricks. You could try downloading Airport Design Editor & resize some of the remote stands so they are too small for a 737/A320. Or delete half the remote gates entirely, which will force them to look for other gates at the terminal.

Its a 10 year old AI system so don't expect too much from it.

Try WoAI that would give you the same quality, and it's free

It is great quality and almost all airlines are there

I had tried WoAI but on many airports the AI aircraft were there but invisible

As someone else mention, both airlines A3 and OA do park at the gates, that's a "misconfiguration" if I am allowed to say from this add-on you are using.

My question is - Why don't the airlines based at Athens park at the many jetway equipped gates available? In FS and most likely the real world, it looks as if the gates are being reserved for absolutely nothing, and the out-of-the-way remote stands requiring buses and air stairs are the busiest part of the entire airport.
