Can you give a explanation of what this does?

It sort of smoothes out the steep hill that occurs by the end of 27 when using the scenery together with the FSGenesis38m mesh replacement. If you don't have FSGenesis, you don't need this fix.

Once I noticed that a FSGENESIS fix had been released, I bought the San Diego scenery. I'm happy with the fix so thanks to all involved.

I hope that MS supports airport elevation changes in the future. KSAN is a good example of why they should, as all those who have flown into the airport probably realize. The approach to RWY 27 is quite the ride. You feel like you're swooping down the side of large hill into a valley and then all of the sudden, you're up close and personal with downtown office buildings on the left.

Thanks for the fix. I was going to uninstall the Genesis terrain, because I prefer having Lindberg Intl best with the I5 highway, not the I5 tunnel.

Thank you so much for this patch. Good customer service goes a long way when it comes to considering buying future products and that is what FlyTampa has done here. I've posted my comment on FSGenesis forum to let them know that it is possible to create a fix considering FS9 limitation on runway elevations. I think FSG should consider adding similar patches at least for most of the major default airports around the country where FSG mesh is used. Once again, thank you FlyTampa!

I too would like to say thanks to FlyTampa for the fix... My problem with the fix is it takes away the whole hilly area you fly over on approach to runway 270. If there's a way they could bring that back without compromising Interstate 5 that would be great...

I decided to keep the hills and deal with I5's cars going into a tunnel... For all those that use FSGenesis's scenery and want a more realistic approach into runway 270, I've made a special scenery file (for use with Lago's FSE) to use instead of the scenery fix above. It makes the approach look far more realistic with FSGenesis's scenery as you have to watch out for the buildings on approach...

Hi Dillon,

I'm the original creator of the flatten file but haven't dropped in here recently so have only just seen your post.

If you are still interested I attach an edited flatten file which should give you the hills back on approach to rwy 27 but will also, hopefully, give you the interstate.

A ray of hope... I can't wait to get home an try this patch... Honnestly - While the Fly Tampa pack is a work of art - I had to pull it off my machine because I'd much rather have the hills on the approach... It can be a pretty wild ride dropping into the hole at San Diego... Thanks for all your hard work on this...

Hi folks,

I made a final attempt to improve things to the North and Northeast of the airport. Hopefully the hills are a bit more prominent there now.
Delete any of my previous files and replace with this one.

One thing, I'm afraid this only works properly with the 'Terrain_max_vertex_level' set to 19. At settings of 20 an 21 it looks ugly. If anyone doesn't have a clue what this means don't worry. 19 is the default and, if you haven't changed it, it should be set to that value.

Glad it helped. I'll tell my wife I was saving San Diego - she'll be impressed. She thought I was wasting my time on that Flight Simming lark again

Just to follow up on your last update... Great work - sir... The rev 5 patch has my vote... I spent over an hour just doing touch and goes in San Diego around dusk yesterday... I should have taken some screen shots... I had a blast...
