What versions of Microsoft Flight Simulator are FlyTampa sceneries compatible with?

Please check the individual product pages, compatibility is listed on each page. Most products are compatible with both FS2004 and FS2002, however some newer releases might only support FS2004.

Can older versions of the sceneries be updated?

For updates please refer to the Downloads Section. The program version you have is visible within the filename (e.g. FlyTampa_Midway10.exe is version 1.0). All Sceneries purchased after an Update has been issued don't need to be upgraded. (see release dates on the Downloads page)

What kind of performance can I expect when running the sceneries?

Please try out our Demos. If performance is low, take a look at the PDF manual, you'll find tips and tweaks on how to increase performance. Always keep in mind that AI traffic can have the most significant impact on overall performance especially at large airports. For advanced users we recommend the following AI models: AI-Aardvark, FS Painter, EvolveAI.

After installing the scenery, Flight Simulator still loads the default airport.

This can happen because the installation program is very careful not to add double entries (in case you install twice etc). Please add the scenery to your FS database by clicking SETTINGS, SCENERY LIBRARY. There click the ADD AREA button and choose the folder where you previously installed the scenery.

There are huge purple blocks and/or red crosses around the airport.

This is because you are running a Demo version. The full versions do not have this limitation. If you already purchased the full version and are still experiencing the purple blocks and/or red crosses, please contact tech support.

Does a Demo version need to be removed prior to installing the full version?

No, the full version can simply be installed into the same folder the Demo is in.

Some textures are not loading, appearing white or very blured.

This is likely because your graphics card isn't powerful enough to handle the huge amounts of textures used in the Add-on sceneries. Within the Downloads Section you will find texture replacement sets (Downgrades) that can be installed when having this problem.

After the installation the magnetic headings are wrong in Flight Simulator 2002.

This can happen when Flight Simulator 2004 is selected during installation. Please reinstall using the FS2002 option.

When I park my aircraft the jetway isn’t lined up to my aircraft.

This is because Microsoft Flight Simulator can only assign small, medium and large gates. The problem is what kind of aircraft is to be considered small, medium or large. Jetways in FlyTampa sceneries have been carefully placed so they line up as good as possible with the most common used aircraft types as well as common AI aircraft models.

Can the jetways be moved?

No, the jetways are static to match AI aircraft.

When parking, I can’t see the Docking sign/Marsheller when getting closer.

Try disabling the aircraft’s panel temporarily by pressing keys Shift [. To get the panel back press the same keys again.

How can I get rid of the static aircraft?

Simply re-install the scenery into the same folder with the static airliners option unchecked.

I lost my scenery files and/or Serial numbers, how do I obtain a replacement?

Just send an email stating your Name, the Products you lost and any information you might still have about the purchase to support@flytampa.com. Note that it will take a few days until you receive a reply since we have to check the purchase with our vendors.

Why do some sceneries' overall look & feel and/or quality differ from others?

Because it is not our goal to develop a set of similar sceneries, but to always use the latest technology and keep improving the overall quality with every new release. This has the effect that our latest releases will always be of higher quality then our earlier releases. We are therefore introducing the term Legacy Product to older sceneries which we feel are not up to our current design standards anymore. If you are a new customer looking to purchase a scenery from us we recommend that you choose our most current release which is being advertised on the main frontpage.
