Miami Version 1.6
This V.1.6 update will only run with a clean installed full version of Miami. Clean installed meaning that the installation program was used and the scenery folder wasn't moved around.
Note: This update has been tested by over a dozen testers and customers without any problems. We do however wish to advise that you have a backup of your current/old Miami at hand in case this update causes any problems.
----------------------------------------------------
- Updated ground textures, less construcion and sand, better colors, more detailed pavement
- Updated ground night lighting (darker)
- All building textures converted to DXT3
- Minimized autogen exclusion around the airport
- Concourse B demolished/removed
- Concourse D extension added
- Concourse J nearly completed but without jetways
- Fedex Building
- Renumbered runways with new textures and darker skidmarks
- Changed center and edgeline colors
- Updated 3D edgelights with real 3D units.
- Updated "barrels" with real 3D ones.
- New hold short flashing lights
- Windsocks
- New afcads (2002 & 2004)
- Fixed progressive taxiline bug
- Fixed bug where scenery complexity had to be at dense or above
Download (8 MB self installer).
PS: The impact of 3D taxilights at Miami is huge. We recommend not installing them for up to double the framerate performance.

Floating jetways
I installed the Miami v1.6 patch and the jetways at Concourse B (I think it's concourse B cause it's missing) are still there- floating in space. Are these fetways in a bgl that I can simply delete or did something go wrong with the patch install?
BTW when I ran the patch .exe it created a new folder "miami" in the directory in which I ran the .exe (a temp directory). It contained the classic scenery structure (/scenery and /texture) so I copied that folder into my FT-Miami folder and overwrote all duplicate bgls. I figured the overwritten ones were the ones that got updated. Maybe there were some that I needed to remove though?

Thanks for the update Martin! I have a quick question, does the new AFCAD use crossing runways? The current AFCAD I have for v1.5 has crossing runways and I like the way it's working.
It's not a big deal if the new AFCAD does not have crossing runways. If it dosen't then I will just keep the AFCAD I have now, delete all the parking for it then copy the parking from the v1.6 AFCAD to the one Im using now.

Re: Floating jetways
Thats interesting to know since the installer shouldn't do that at all. It should either detect where you installed Miami prior and update it there, or refuse to install at all. No idea what happened that it would create a temp folder.Ruahrc wrote:BTW when I ran the patch .exe it created a new folder "miami" in the directory in which I ran the .exe (a temp directory). Since I obtained my FlyTampa-Miami scenery from the Aerosoft U.S. Airports 1 CD Product it was not originally installed in the standard FT location. What I did was move it to a new location (...\Addon Scenery\FlyTampa-Miami\) and then went into the windows registry and updated the entry there so that it pointed in the correct location. Don't know if this has anything to do with it but maybe it does...
