CYYZ Update

Post by Dustin » Fri Oct 27, 2023 12:19 pm

Hello,
I posted back in January regarding building and other asset collisions between the Canada World Update (XI) and FT's CYYZ. I was wondering if there is any commitment or plan to update CYYZ to hopefully rectify the problems and improve performance.

Thanks in advance!

Wondering this as well. YYZ has gone through several significant upgrades and construction projects since the current release was done. One of the biggest has been the construction of the new Bombardier facility located beside (to the west) of the FedEx hangar. Several changes have also happened along the south east area around Terminal 1, and to taxiways.

I can't post a link to the older thread that Dustin mentioned, but change the end of the URL in your address bar to "viewtopic.php?t=22453" (or search for "[MSFS] Toronto Photoreal Scenery (WU11)/FT mismatch") for further context :P

Wondering about this as well - performance was great when I first bought the scenery at release, but it's progressively gotten worse. It's still functional, thankfully, but landing can be very challenging with the stutters, especially on the 23 and 24L/R approaches.

When the scenery was first released, we didn't have the same selection of airliners we have today - I was still flying the FlyByWire A320neo, for instance. Not to mention the plethora of addons most of us have installed on our systems now.

Next time I fly, I'm going to try and remove the Canada world update from the content manager and see if that makes a difference. But removing the world update comes with its own drawbacks, especially just for one airport, when other Canadian airport sceneries are developed against the world update being installed. The prudent thing to do would be for FlyTampa staff to address this and investigate the possibility of updating the scenery.

@martin or anyone else from FT, anything you guys can do would be helpful. :(
