X-Plane 12 Poor performance

Post by HornetAircraft » Thu Feb 09, 2023 11:08 pm

Hello, I purchased Amsterdam for X-Plane the day it was released and having boughten it for P3Dv5, I had excellent performance in the P3D5 version. X-Plane however has been a different story. I have had no FPS issues with any of your other sceneries, but Amsterdam is almost unflyable. In v12 the textures are extremely blurry, and only at Amsterdam and I have only seen them at their normal resolution once. I've got a 3070ti and have no issues with other airport sceneries. secondly, the FPS when looking to the north, towards the terminals, and to the left when sitting on RWY14 gives massive FPS drops. the updates targeting performance improvements have done little to help with the performance of Amsterdam. Do you have any suggestions on how to improve the experience in V12?

Note: I run TrueEarth GB South, Oragami EGLL, and the Felis 747-200 at 35-40FPS with 0 resolution loss or blurry textures. in Amsterdam, I can only manage 15-20FPS.

Got the exact same issue, it's only at EHAM where I can barely pull 30fps and like you mentioned if you look in the wrong direction that drops even further. There's definitely something up with the scenery, can only hope it gets an update at some point but until then it's pretty much unflyable.

Same issue. The thing is most of the Netherlands in XP12 has poor performance from Laminar Reasearch. Replacing the +50+000 Global Scenery in XP12 with the XP11 one, will greatly improve FPS. But I still get frame drops when looking to Amsterdam city. Now this MUST be a FlyTampa issue, because when I disabled the FlyTampa Amsterdam, all my frames were smooth as butter with no frame drops. (Note after already having replaced the +50+000 folder in Global Scenery from XP11 to XP12.

Its kind of disappointing that there hasn't been any statement or plan. Is it even possible to disable Amsterdam city like in the P3D Configurator?

Same here. It looks like there's a lot of surrounding buildings as part of the package, so I guess these have high res textures too. That causes the drops in FPS, with so much going on.
